Hi, I'm Dr. Diala

About Dr. Diala Safi
I am a medical doctor completing my residency in oncology in Damascus, Syria. I work in public hospitals that continue to recover from the devastation of war, now under a new government striving to rebuild the country’s healthcare system. My patients often come from communities most affected by the conflict — people who face both the burden of illness and the challenges of rebuilding their lives.

My path into oncology has been one of discovery and purpose. With a deep commitment to stand with patients during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. In a nation working to heal and restore, I strive to combine medical skill with humanity, ensuring every patient feels seen, heard, and supported.

As I advance in my residency, I aim to contribute to the future of oncology in Syria through public awareness, education, and advocacy — helping build a healthcare system where quality cancer care is available to every person, regardless of their circumstances.
